The “Tiwi Turtle Project” is a Community Proejct with Coconut Beach Lodge, the Kenyan Wildlife Service and Prowin Pro Nature and the local community. Sea turtles are endangered. Many of them die in fishing nets and diseases caused by pollution. But they are also hunted for their meat and their eggs are sold illegally on markets as a delicacy. That’s why the “Tiwi Turtle Police” was founded.
