1st day: Karibu Kenya, Welcome to Kenya!
At the airport in Nairobi you will be welcomed by our driver. On the way to your hotel, an Eco Camp in Nairobi with a lush green garden – you get a first impression of the vibrant capital. The afternoon you spent with giraffes close by: the Rothschild giraffes at the Giraffe Center are endemic here in Kenya. They are used to people and can be observed at close range. Overnight at Wildebeest Eco Camp.
2nd day: Elephant orphanage
Today you visit the unique elephant orphanage “Daphne Sheldrick Trust”. Orphaned elephants and rhino babies are lovingly cared for and will later – if they are self-sufficient enough – slowly get used to the wild and re-released step by step. A worth seeing project for young and old! At lunchtime you can choose between international and local dishes in the modern “Java House”. Strengthened you are heading to Lake Nakuru National Park for your first game drive. In addition to numerous antelopes, waterbucks, monkeys, buffalo and giraffes, the park is a bird’s paradise. In 1969 it was announced to be the first bird protecting national park in Africa. Especially impressive are the enormous flamingo colonies, but they are only one of 450 bird species of the park. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
3rd day: Lake Nakuru National Park
Today the day starts at sunrise with an early morning game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy once again the view of the lake and its bird diversity. Afterwards your safari will lead you through the impressive Rift Valley direction Masai Mara – another highlight of the journey! The Masai Mara, together with the Serengeti, is a vast wildlife sanctuary where herds of zebra, wildebeest, topis and Thomson gazelles roam around. Wide savannas, decorated with umbrella acacias, as far as the eye can see. Lions, cheetahs and leopards live here all year round. And at the legendary Mara River, huge Nile crocodiles sunbathe while hippos splash around. Overnight at Mara Legends Camp.
4th day: Masai Mara
Woken up in the middle of the Masai Mara, a whole day of wildlife watching is on program. Let the seemingly not ending vastness impact you. Enjoy Kenya’s park with the highest animal abundance, unique in its biodiversity. You will spend the night again at Mara Legends Camp. A safari day ends best at the campfire!
5th day: Farms, markets, towns and villages
After a morning gamedrive you will return to camp for hot lunch. Then, the journey continues, direction Nairobi. Enjoy a glimpse into African life as you drive past farms and markets through towns and villages. You will be impressed by the spectacular landscape of the East African Rift Valley. In the late afternoon you reach Nairobi. Overnight at the very unique Hotel Kitengela.
6th day: Amboseli National Park
Elephant herds, in the background the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. This breathtaking view awaits you at Amboseli National Park. Thanks to the Maasai who own the surrounding lands and who do not tolerate foreign hunters in their territory, the elephants have largely been spared by poachers. That’s why also age structures, social behavior and population dynamics were preserved as in no other park. But not only elephants make the Amboseli, look forward to big cats, buffalos and hippos. Overnight at Satao Elerai Camp.
7th day: Gamedrive at Amboseli National Park
In the morning the chances for a clear view of Mount Kilimanjaro are the highest! Thus, the day starts early with a first game drive. You return to camp for breakfast. Now the journey continues to Tsavo West National Park. The diverse landscape ranges from hilly, mountainous landscape over savannah to densely wooded areas. Numerous volcanic cones protrude from the plains. Overnight at Satao Camp.
8th day: Amboseli National Park
During a morning game drive, you can once again take in the diverse park. In the “Voi Wildlife Lodge” a hearty lunch awaits you. Sometimes you can once again observe animals from close range, they come to the water hole at the lodge to drink. An exciting, versatile safari comes to an end. Your guide will take you to the airport in Mombasa.
